"Lunar New Year" - Green Tea and Coconut Bonbon (5 Piece)
This year marks the Year of the Ox, and we're celebrating Lunar New Year with a very special chocolate. An expression that truly symbolizes the storied history of Chinatown and LA's impact on bringing groups together.
A Unique Blend of Oolong Tea: It starts with the right tea, that's prepared in-house with a collection of exotic spices. We then prepare a chocolate ganache infused with this tea, steeped with rich flavor but with a creamy consistency.
Aroma: With freshly shaved coconut, your nose will first be introduce to the tropical fragrance. On the first bite, the oolong tea adds a new dimension with subtle fruit notes around a fresh floral taste.
Recommended Pairings: With the spices and personality of this chocolate, this is a great selection for rum-based cocktails, especially Mai Tai. If wine is your thing, the subtle yet harmonious notes can really enhance dryer red French wines, especially Boudreaux.
Bonbon Design: As part of our "Chocolate as an Art" series, we were very much inspired by Daoism, especially this age-old pursuit of yin and yang, good and bad. It reminded us of the dark fragrance of the oolong with the upswing of coconut. A visual cue to help find our inner peace.
