Now, this wasn’t just any whisky—it’s a bold nod to Scotland’s legendary whiskies seen through the refined lens of Suntory’s Japanese heritage. They wanted something extraordinary, and I had just two weeks to deliver. Two weeks! It felt like I had to find a four-leaf clover in a field of chocolate.

Whisky Meets Chocolate: A Recipe for St. Patrick’s Day Magic

Most folks mix whisky into chocolate after it’s been made. But I thought, “Why not shake things up a bit?” So, I decided to infuse the whisky during the conching process, right when the cacao beans were still mingling. It was like trying to teach a leprechaun to tap dance—challenging, a bit risky, and a whole lot of fun. With whisky’s water content threatening to throw our batch into chaos (and our machines into a meltdown), this was a culinary tightrope walk worthy of any St. Patrick’s Day parade.
